How to Turn Email Marketing Lists into SMS Subscribers in Shopify
This tutorial will cover how to use the Email Subscribers Converter to convert your email subscribers into SMS subscribers so they can receive text marketing deals and promotions from you.
Follow the simple 6-step process to double your marketing exposure and begin launching automations and SMS marketing campaigns that reach the maximum number of subscribers.
1. From the SMSBump side menu, select Collect Subscribers and then click Get Started under Email Subscribers Converter.
2. You will see the number of current email subscribers your Shopify store has, as well as the potential SMS subscribers after the email blast.
There is a chance your Potential SMS subscribers are less than your Current email subscribers. This is because not all email subscribers will have a phone number entered in your store.
The Potential SMS Subscriber estimation is only for subscribers who have a phone number in their account with your Shopify store.
Click on the Configure Email Template button to continue.
3. Choose an email template from one of the 5 provided for you.
These are standard email designs that SMSBump has prepared as examples for your campaigns. They are simple templates with a clear statement and Call-to-Action so your current subscribers can instantly recognize the purpose of your email.
You are free to design your own templates and use the text editor to customize your content, but we do recommend to try to keep the structure of the predefined email templates you will see here.
You will be able to edit the content and tweak the visual details later.
4. Get the best possible open-rates of your email by creating a relevant email subject line which communicates your marketing goal most effectively to your potential SMS subscribers. Here is an idea:
“Don’t Miss a Single Deal with SMS Discount Alerts”
Edit the body of the email by personalizing the text, experiment with formatting, and add available placeholders:

{SiteUrl}: This is the URL of your Shopify store

{FirstName}: Your customer’s first name which will display in the email

{LastName}: Your customer’s last name which will display in the email

{SubscribeUrl}: The link to your subscription page which loads once a customer clicks on the Subscribe button in the email

{SiteName}: Your Shopify store name
Just like in your SMS campaigns and automations, you can use these short-codes to add valuable information into your email.
Personalize the campaign by addressing each recipient personally using the {FirstName} short code. Also, show your brand name for better recognition using the {SiteName} short code.
Most important of all - always use the {SubscribeUrl} that will lead your email subscribers to the page where they are going to enter their phone numbers so they opt-in for your SMS marketing messages.
5. Once you are happy with the content and style of the email, select a destination list from any of your SMSBump customers and click Preview List Page to preview your subscription page.
This is the SMS contact list in SMSBump where all the email subscribers will be added when they opt-in with their phone numbers.
For example, selecting the predefined Text Marketing List in the destination dropdown means that each of the email subscribers who opt-in from your template will be added to this list.
6. Send a test email to yourself, and if everything looks alright hit the Schedule a Campaign button to launch the template and start converting your email subscribers!
