How to Connect Happy Birthday Discounts with Yotpo SMSBump in Shopify
To give your customers personalized birthday wishes from your Shopify store at the right time, you can now connect your Yotpo SMSBump app with the Happy Birthday Discounts app. The Happy Birthday Discounts app allows you to reward your most loyal customers with a timely birthday incentive or personalized discount for your store.
In this article we will give you a detailed overview on how to connect the two apps on Shopify to increase customer engagement and loyalty.
Important: Before you begin to connect the two apps, you need to make sure you have installed the Happy Birthday Discount and have a running account, as well as be on our Growth plan (or one of our other premium plans).
Install Happy Birthday Discounts
Step 1: Go to your SMSBump side menu and click on Integrations. You will see a panel of all apps Yotpo SMSBump either already has or will soon have a running integration with. Find Happy Birthday Discounts and click on it.
Step 2: You will see the app overview, which will give you more information on what the app is all about, what you can use it for and all of its useful features. Once you have reviewed this section and if you wish to proceed with the installation, go ahead and click Install.
Step 3: You will be redirected to the Happy Birthday Discounts app page on Shopify where you need to click Add app in order to continue.
Step 4: This will redirect you back to your SMSBump app, where you will review all the information Happy Birthday Discounts will have access to once it is installed. To get a better grasp, simply click on View Details. Once you are ready to proceed with the installation, press Install app.
If you wish to go back, press Cancel.
Step 5: The app will ask you to Approve Charge. Note that it will automatically provide you with a 30-day free trial period and in the Base field you will see the first date when you should expect to be charged, as well as the total amount.
Click Start free trial to complete the process of installing the app. Cancel if you do not approve and wish to go back.
Step 6: Next stop is to actually connect Yotpo SMSBump and Happy Birthday Discounts app. Click on Integrations here:
You will then see a list of all of the apps you can connect Happy Birthday Discounts with. Find SMSBump and click Enable SMSBump.
Step 7: Click on Configure your SMSBump settings to proceed, or Disable SMSBump if you wish to cancel.
Step 8: A pop-up will ask you for an API key in order to continue connecting the two apps.
You can acquire an API key by going to your SMSBump account.
Click on your account name to open up a drop-down menu. From it, select Integration.

Step 9: This is where you will be able to see your SMSBump API key:

Click on the Default App field and then copy the API key.
Step 10: Go back to the pop-up window, paste the API key in the field and click Save.

Step 12: To double-check that you have successfully connected the two apps, from your Yotpo SMSBump side menu go to Integrations. Your Happy Birthday Discounts app field should look like this:
